Walking Tours through Hidden Parts of Mother Prague

Prague is a UNESCO listed historical city admired by thousands of tourists and loved by locals who gently call it the Mother of Cities. We offer an opportunity to explore some of Prague´s architectural gems - both must- sees and overlooked – within two walking tours designed especially for conference participants.

 

The tours will be given in English language by a professional guide and tailored exclusively for conference participants. Advanced registration is required!

The Roots of Prague´s Education

meeting point: tram stop Malostranské náměstí in front of Starbucks Coffee (tram No. 12, 15, 22, 23)

duration: 2 hours

capacity: 15 people

date: 24th June 2018 – 10 a.m / 27th June 2018 – 10 a.m. / 30 th June 2018 – 10 a.m.

The tour starts in Lesser Quarter a peaceful district full of history but not as touristy as the Old Town. We will meet the most famous child of Prague – the world-known Infant Jesus and an impressive collection of his dresses. The tour continues across Charles Bridge to the Old Town with Klementinum and Carolinum College, once the centres of Prague´s intellectual life. During the tour we will not only be tracing the roots of Czech education but also explore a fascinating history of Mother Prague, her buildings and her people. The tour ends in Old Town Square.

Prague Unknown – Legends and Mysteries of the Left Bank

date: 24 th June 2018 – 4 p.m / 30 th June 2018 – 4 p.m.

The left bank of the Vltava river under the Prague Castle is a bit hidden part of the city centre. Come and meet its secret history full of fantastic stories, famous rulers, brave knights, tricky alchemists, bizarre ghosts and other mysterious creatures! The tour will lead us to the Kampa Island under the Charles Bridge, to the crooked lanes of Lesser Quarter, romantic recesses of Hradčany district and up to Strahov Monastery and Pohořelec. The spectacular views of Prague awaiting us at the end of the tour are worth a bit of climbing uphill!
